Kaiju Girl Caramelise – Volume 7

Well this volume takes the happy ending that last volume ended with and shifts in a more sad tone. With everyone starting to figure out that Kuroe is Harugon it would make sense for Kuroe herself would want to hide. But what actually is the case is that Rinko ends up bringing Kuroe to Maulani Island.

We finally learn the truth about Kuroe in that she is a Kaiju and was born as one. The term mimicry was used because Kuroe herself resembled a human form because Rinko was the one that appeared before her. Rather than a girl who turned into a Kaiju she was a Kaiju that was pretending to be human. You can understand the frustration that Kuroe feels because Rinko acted like her mom, but she essentially lied to her.

Professor Aran was the one to tell her the truth. He was right that Rinko was more than likely never going to tell Kuroe the truth. She continued wanting to act as Kuroe’s mom. Hell she was excited when that Kaiju hatched. For what you may know she would want to start a family with them. Rinko acted like an overprotective parent, but her issues stemed far worse than that.

Still through Drago we learn that the Kaiju that kept Kuroe from leaving the island was the same case as her. Her name was Kinara and she acted as a human until she lost her memory. It makes sense if a Kaiju lost the reason to become a human they would remain as a Kaiju. Still there appears to be a clear parallel between Drago and Kinara alongside Minami and Kuroe. Still does this mean the love Kuroe feels for Minami is doomed?
