This was quite the loaded finale with Cheng’s plan fully coming into motion. Really cool to see cool to seem him entering the victims of Liu. He can even have Liu confess which is great, but the issue comes after Liu gets arrested. His eye color changes from red to black. Then there is also the point that if he were handicapped, how would he have even walked to the point of the trap?
Cheng’s speech to Lihua is a great moment that showcases his growth throughout the show. As Guang has mentioned time and time before they can’t change the past. As stopping future deaths creates a potential for a much worse fate. Hell we can see even a minor change resulting in Lihua’s death. The past is the past and life isn’t perfect. But it is about what we take from the past to proceed into the future. Which is the constant point of each of the cases in this season.
Guang then also realizes Cheng potentially being able to stop Lihua’s death shouldn’t be possible. Her eyes turn red and what we see is the true antagonist. Hell this probably isn’t even Liu and he very much can be a victim because he felt guilty of potentially killing Lihua.
What is even more shocking is that he can even possess Qiao, who stabs Guang. Forget asking who he is how does his powers even work? A brutal cliffhanger to say the least.
