I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day – Volume 7

This volume gave us the first insight into Ester. At first glance, she seems like the reckless, selfless type. Though it is clear it is more reckless, as we see she has a bad habit of not taking care of herself and tolerating pain. Which is honestly more concerning. Even with her old partner, she doesn’t really have her own goals, but rather her wanting praise comes from wanting to do something to make someone else happy. Hopefully things improve for her.

It is good to see Sheena continue to work on her magic as she helps Fran. It is very interesting how her magic complements Fran’s healing magic. As Fran’s magic seems more akin to healing magic if it were medicine. While Sheena’s magic doesn’t heal the physical part but the emotional part. Which is why it helps with pain, but not appearance.

It is interesting how both Sheena and Mimi clearly love each other, but each has their own anxieties regarding it. Mimi wants to always be around Sheen constantly and is notably less happy when she isn’t around her. Granted for Mimi, it does go at the level of obsession. You wonder if Mimi looks at Sheena as her mother. The point with Mimi is that she doesn’t label things as Hal points out. Her love doesn’t have a label, but it is more pure.

While it is clear for Sheena her love for Mimi has developed in a romantic sense. It is good that she had the courage to come to terms with it. As Sheena doesn’t want Mimi to forget her. Mimi doesn’t want to lose Sheena. This dwells around Mimi’s immortality, so it will be interesting if Mimi urges Sheena to be immortal like her again. Or will Sheena try to reverse the immortality that Mimi has? It would make for a very interesting shift in the story either way. Or at the very least, diving into those two ideas.
