As we saw in episode 2, we saw in Tanya’s life he was a stickler for the rules. He didn’t care what excuses you have; you basically have to follow a certain standard. What you have now is someone like that who created said standards for her battalion where there are no real checks and balances for her to keep the standards for her man in check. As for how she pushes them, it is beyond cruel, but results are all that matter. Although the ironic part is that it motivates them, even if that truly wasn’t her main intention.

We haven’t seen the series make use of Tanya’s age much, but at the end of the episode, using the voice of a 9 year-old to make it sound like a prank is a frightening tool for battle. As is obvious, you can declare an attack, and the enemy wouldn’t expect it, and technically it wasn’t a true dirty trick.
