As the story of Tomi-Hime and Himekawa continues, we can see Tomi-Hime is truly in love. As Himekawa tells her that he can give her something that she can’t have with eternal life. Of course, what happens if one of her fellow Forgotten Gods is bound to die? To lose her own immortality is one thing, but her love being what causes Susuki to die is very cruel. No surprise Tomi-Hime rejects her feelings. Still, it’s clear being in love isn’t something that can suddenly be reversed.
We do see Himekawa’s wife bringing the news of the Forgotten Gods regarding Kojiro. She tells her husband still has an attachment to Tomi-Hime. Though it’s clear that attachment is so strong that he would rather die than not live without her. Of course she can’t kill the one that she loves because that is also cruel. It is more proof that she is in love and is starting to understand it.
