This episode builds upon the previous one as Himekawa gets tasked to receive Kojirou. Though as he meets up with Tomi-Hime, we learn about how her mother fell in love with a man. That man left her, and that is what set the stage for these gods to become forgotten gods. Still, the reason that she calls Kojirou Aguri is that her mother’s stage took the form of Kojirou. You understand why she would refuse to leave Kojirou behind.
Himekawa’s reaction to Kojirou as he mentions the forgotten gods eating humans and Tomi-Hime mentions how humans eat fish. As each of them does it so they don’t starve. Do forgotten gods eat anything but humans, I wonder?
Though an interesting shift where we see Himekawa wants to stay with Tomi-Hime. Still, did he fall into her spell even if it wasn’t her intention? Though he aims to make her happy. More than likely after hearing the story of what happened to her mother. Curious if they can live happily after running away.
