Daemons of the Shadow Realm – Volume 12

Despite dealing with Misasagi and his daemons Hikaru handled this situation quite well. Creating an avenue for Dr. Sakurazawa to protect the other civilians nearby. Enforcing Misasagi to decide without knowing how tough and dangerous Hikaru is.

Akio’s advice is actually doing favors. But with Gonzo dead, there is no doubt that it is a huge loss for the Kagemoris. Still, Misasagi’s words that Hikaru could have killed him, but he is too kindhearted, might be the one weakness he has compared to his father. Can he take over for his father with that mindset and with how dangerous Nishino Village is?

Yuru and the divine guardians do a good job narrowing Ivan to go up against Asa. Even with the issue of protecting civilians, they get Asa and Ivan alone together. What seemed like a checkmate situation was in truth a check situation for Asa. It is quite interesting to see Daikyo begging for Ivan to be spared. Of course there is no way that would happen. Still odd that the twins parents would be in Okinawa since that was where they planned to go.

Though the remark plays on Ivan’s daemons taking the energy of Yin and Yang. It is not a huge surprise that Asa was rattled because when things didn’t go as she expected, she panicked. This plays on her weakness of always being protected by the Kagemoris. She has experience being independent like Yuru, so she panicked, but at least she escaped. While it is not ideal, they end up taking Ivan hostage. So it is not a complete loss, and it was a good job from Yuru telling Asa she did a good job. She needs to think of what she did right to boost her confidence rather than what she did wrong. Sadly, with the manor and Gonzo dead, it is no surprise she lures herself back to blaming herself.

Another neat moment is when we see Fuyuki take care of Daigo. Considering that Dera has taken Nagitsuji this leaves the Nishino Village side with quite a notable loss on their end as well. At least there is some information regarding Misasagi’s Heaven Daemon.
