Witch Hat Atelier – Volume 9

As the story ventures to the Silver Eve festival, Richeh newest invention is one that will be quite useful for the girls. The rings will let the girls find each other, and that way, if they get separated like with the 2nd exam, they don’t need to fear.

One interesting thing that Qifrey makes note of is how magic of the like and magical tools don’t work inside of Castle Ezrest. We see the 3 wise ones present when the Knights of Morales arrive. Though most notable is that we are introduced to the Wise in Friendship of the name Lagrah. As well as the rulers of the 5 kingdoms and His Majesty King Deanreldy. Politics between the King, the 5 Rules of Kingdoms, and the Witches of the Wise Ones is definitely lots of friction. The rulers hold the power of the witches in high regard, and the witches know their power isn’t one to judge lightly. It will more than likely be a piece of friction as the story progresses.

Among the Knights of Moarles sits Luluci. Her past horrors of  her and her friends feeling abused and uncomfortable sit with her now. It is a reminder that the witches themselves hold high authority and how bad it can be if that power is misused. What if they weren’t saved by the Knight of Moarles? Who knows what her fate would be? It is clear why her conviction to hold justice for witches holds firm because it is that justice that saved her life. Still, it appears that the pervert has a lead where Dagda has a seal on his chest. Well, things are getting more hairy.

At the beginning of the series, Coco truly loved magic and all of its wonders. No doubt becoming a witch is something she could only dream of. Seeing a girl who seemed to hold that same passion as her, but Coco knows the truth. It is not for the gifted, as it is more about your passion and work ethic. The problem stems from the fact that it truly can be dangerous. It is easier to lie to that girl that she can never be a witch than to put her at risk. At the same time, Tartah’s words hold true for Coco because it isn’t her fault. At this point it is better to move forward.

The issue comes when Custas returns and he has his legs back. Not in the typical sense. Of course he now learns about the truth of magic. As an outsider to the world of witches, no doubt Custas’s frustration is real because this is magic that let him walk again. He has a valid point in that magic can’t be purely based on being good or bad. Though the risk comes from the fact anyone can cast that magic. No doubt Coco and Tartah feel terrible because they aren’t allowed to tell the truth. Things don’t look good for Tartah and Coco now.

Meanwhile, Teita runs into what most likely is the runaway prince. This group of girls continues to be as busy as ever.
