It’s great to see an anime where you can see war tactics in battle. As Sugimoto and Hijikata really showcasing that well. Hijikata even understood what Nagakura did in telling Tsurumi about the deed. He understood what Nagakura did and why it is effective, which is great.
The reveal of the cannon is great. Sad to see Father Koito going down with his ship. We know that he truly loved his son. This series truly does such a great job with its characters. On the antagonist side, we have characters that we have come to love.
Kirawus is a character that hasn’t received as much focus as even Ariko. That shot of him looking back at the deed, you couldn’t tell he couldn’t be happier. No doubt he will do everything he can so that the deed is safe.

- Pretty solid adaptation, as everything was covered minus the panel containing Ogata and Vasily. Honestly, it is fine because it would disrupt the flow of the battle.
- With chapter 299 or 300 as the stopping point, we have 8-9 chapters left. Which is about what his adaptation is going for.
