In this episode, Section 9 was aiming to investigate if Chairman Tadokkoro had ties to Yakushima, who we can recall was tied to the “The Laughing Man” case. This episode was more interesting in how they manipulated him to conduct their investigation. Create a problem for Tadokkoro to think someone is after his assets when in reality they just needed him to open it up. Definitely a different approach than any of their other cases, even dating back to S1.
