Journal with Witch – Episode 6

Episode with a lot of good focus on Makio. I am not sure what Makio would be diagnosed with. There could be stuff like HSP, ADHD, and OCD. For Makio she can be overwhelmed easily, even by daily stuff. It makes me wonder, with her relationship with Asa, will she start seeing Minori in Asa because we are seeing Asa find her place?

Everything with Minori is tough for her. Even reading the journal she left for Asa was tough on her. We have small details, but what truly broke their bonds as sisters? We have a gap between when they are close at home in a flashback and when Minori starts pushing Makio away. Regardless, it is something Makio will eventually have to tackle.

We can really see why Makio became a writer because she very much needed to escape reality. She got lost in books when she was young and now gets lost in worlds she tries to create. The scene when Makio and Kasamachi is great because it really shows how overwhelmed she is now. Between remembering how she met Kasamachi, her conversations with Emiri, and her conversation with the lawyer, there is a lot that she is dealing with.

Makio is also very down on herself. Thinking that there is so much she has to be aware of and it is too much. For her it feels easier if she is alone, and asking Kasamachi to share that load is Kasamachi clearly deeply cares for Makio at the very least. He really treasures at least maintaining a friendship with her. Though it does feel clear that the talk with Emiri has her thinking of romance, and she is still into Kasamachi.

Also, the conversation between Emiri and Makio was interesting because Makio is not a typical adult. It is clear Emiri’s mom is pressuring her regarding marriage and finding a nice guy. Honestly, it sounds like her mom is a lot like Minori where Emiri feels like she doesn’t have a choice. There are even small hints that she is possibly attracted to Asa. As her comments of “It is not like I don’t want to” would imply, marriage is not the issue. I am curious if Emiri’s relationship with her mom could be a showcase of what Asa’s relationship with her mom was like. Curious how Emiri handles everything and Asa can be someone she can lean on.
