Sentenced to Be a Hero – Episode 4

This was a great transition episode that was much needed before entering their next mission. As we got some nice focus on various characters. At the start we had Xylo, who wanted to read in peace, and Teoritta, who was giving it anything but that. Of course, as Kivia wanted to talk to Xylo, Teoritta played it for going to the great exchange. She had a blast, and we got a nice view of world building. I liked how Teoritta picked up that Kivia wanted sweets, and it showed a cute side of her.

Still, the main talk between Kivia & Xylo is disturbing. A revelation that Xylo actually saved Teoritta because she essentially was bound to be experimented on and dissected. Still, it is interesting that the anger Kivia had in episode 1 was not because Xylo was a hero. It was specifically because he was the goddess killer. Essentially, the military thinks if you can kill a goddess, then you can create one. Considering how powerful Teoritta is, imagining someone with an army of goddesses is terrifying.

This episode was a great showcase on Venetim. He has a very charismatic mouth, but he is a big liar about it. As he convinces the officer that it would be silly to kill them all off if one of them runs away. We can remember Dotta from episode 1 as a showcase of it likely to happen. They obviously can’t refute that. Though we can tell talking out of his ass is out of habit because he says sure to Xylo asking for a pardon when it would be impossible to get it. Even more so, the reason he is sentenced to be a hero is that the article he thought he bullshitted uncovered the truth of those among the church being aligned with the Demon Blight.

Still the mission of defending the fortress as a suicide mission to make sure that the 9th Goddess can poison Demon Lord Iblis. Obviously they can’t refuse it, and it is to be expected. At least Venetim got better conditions for the mission.

At last we are introduced to Tsav, and like the majority of the heroes, he has a few screws loose.
