This volume was interesting as it dived into Micchon and Risa. For Risa she loved expressing herself in how she dressed herself. Of course there is merit to following the rules and, in turn, the dress code. Sometimes being like everyone else isn’t for us. For Risa she lost her ability to express herself, and it made her life miserable. Funny enough, the connection between Micchon and Risa is something that Micchon wouldn’t remember because they only met once. For Risa that encounter made her who she is today. It was that push for Risa to not give up dressing how she wants, but to make sure it meets the guidelines.
The bonus chapter was a good spin on this, putting Micchon in the position of Risa. Essentially, she always followed her brother, so rather than Micchon having obstacles in what she wanted to do. Rather, she didn’t know what she wanted for herself. As a girl exploring her love, she wanted to be cuter since her image through karate was that of a tomboy. It is hard to say that Risa had influence on her. But at the end of the chapter, despite doing something that is not cute, Yuu does what he does best and sees the inner side of who someone truly is. Sometimes something so simple can change someone. Micchon did for Risa what Yuu did for Micchon, which Micchon has done for Yuu.
