Akemura going for the kill on both Chihiro and Enten was raw and unexpected. More than likely I expect him to intentionally go for a nonfatal attack. He fought Chihiro because he got in his way. But of course that doesn’t mean he HAD to kill his nephew. Many times in shounen we see the protagonist get killed, but really it is a fakeout and they survive. Here for Akemura, his motivations make sense for not going for the kill. I guess Samura will die to give Shiba time to get Chihiro to safety. Though I do worry for Hakuri.
Given the earlier arcs that illustrated that Chihiro lacked the foundation. For it to show that Akemura halved Enten not because of him having the Magatsumi, but rather his raw skills as a swordsman. Curious where the series goes from here.
