A great episode that focuses on the accounts of Tanigaki, Koito, and Tsukishima. For Tanigaki who is in a bind, he knows that following what Tsurumi wants for him is pointless. If he kills Sugimoto it means nothing, and it won’t suddenly make Asirpa obedient. Plus, bringing Asirpa back to Huci means nothing if it isn’t when Asirpa desires it. Though where this episode shines is on Tanigaki’s own desires, because with Inkarmat pregnant, he could pretend to go after Sugimoto, but when will he see his love and child? Tanigaki follows his heart in both his feelings and staying true to himself.

As Tanigaki tries to get Inkarmat to safety Koito, and Tsukishima involvement is intriguing. Of course, in theory, Tanigaki should follow Tsurumi’s orders. It is interesting that Koito is banking on there being more to Tsurumi than what’s on the surface. What is the point in killing Tanigaki? It doesn’t help Tsurumi at this point. In fact it keeps Tanigaki away from Sugimoto & Asirpa, which is one less obstacle. Tsurumi at the very least, is a complex man despite how manipulative he is. This is excellent character development for Koito since his reasons don’t feel delusional. For Tsukishima this is big for him because now he can bank on what Koito is selling and believe there is more to Tsurumi’s plans.

This episode covered chapters 228-232 as well as the last few pages of 227. This only covered the subplot of Tanigaki & Inkarmat. It is good it gets contained within this episode.
