Vermilio has finally decided to back up Helck fully. Very much Helck & Vermilio’s relationship resembles the relationship Azudra had with the hero Uria. It is quite funny that Azudra might have been more headstrong about fighting humans than Vermilio was at the start of the series. Though we can see the growth that Azudra experienced being around humans is much the same as it was for Helck. The current Azudra & Helck feel so similar to each other. Though inside they both had a rage. While Azudra failed to create peace between demons & humans when Uria was around, he is getting a second chance at that.
Though, as expected, it isn’t a surprise Shin and the other demons were wary of Vermilio’s plan to save the humans. Vermilio mentions how the true problem stems from leadership as we look at the King, Mikaros & Raphaed compared to Vermilio & Azudra. From that, the characters who are leading couldn’t be any different. Granted, Raphael is still a mystery. This is shown most through Halaol, who, as we know, was forced to awaken but is just a pawn for the king. For Shin, he can understand Vermilio’s viewpoint, granted he can’t make big decisions with the war at large.
Shalamy is a good girl, but at the same time the snow magic she has is concerning. Still, it looks like Mikaros plans to utilize Cless to take care of Helck. Well, I think it is safe to say Helck’s resolve is as tight as it has ever been. Though facing his brother again is still rough. Also, good news that Asta is ok.
It’s quite terrifying how powerful these awakened soldiers are if they are separated from the king’s magic. When they are awakened, those who are at the level of Edil are on par with Vermilio & Azudra, which is terrifying. In a sense, defeating the king and saving the humans might be the optimal play at this point. Them summoning monsters isn’t new, and it’s good to get intel on the king’s location. Though them trying to spread the awakening magic to make demons berserk is terrifying, I would have thought it would be limited to humans, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. More than likely both Helck & Vermilio will be fine in their small unit, but if they fail, the worst-case scenario is awful.
The power of the new world that Uria uses is very much the same as what we have seen with Helck. There are still a bunch of questions regarding that as our group heads forward to the final battle.
The bonus chapter is good because Uria was the hero that Alicia mentions that she has ancestry from. It was Azudra’s sword that was denoted as the hero slayer, which, if it weren’t for that, things could have been so much worse back then. Now the sword is in good use in Vermilio’s hands. Quite interesting how the sword has made its way through so many key members of the cast.
