It’s good to start the season with the gang even if there is still skipped content to get back to. Sugimoto mentioned that Asirpa reminds him of himself when he was younger. Asirpa not wanting to kill is a pure side to her. It makes you understand why he is doing as much as he is doing for her. Of course the question goes back to Sugimoto his demons. Eventually he needs to face them.

While it is good to get the 7th Division’s cooperation in getting Asirpa back, now we encounter the problem of them not having Asirpa’s best interest. Tanigaki came to bring Asirpa back to Huci, but will he even get to see her grandmother? Sofia fled the scene and is an important piece for Asirpa. Of course the 7th Division doesn’t care. It feels like a relationship that is destined to rip.

We are back with Hijikata’s group, where they are after Sekiya Waichiro. Though both Hijikata & Ushiyama, who are the group’s most capable fighters is missing. We do get a funny focus on Kadokura and his insanely bad luck that had some good luck in this episode.

Sugimoto’s group portion of the episode covered chapters 201-203 minus the last few pages of Sofia. While for Hijikata’s group, it covered the last few pages of chapter 171 as well as chapter 172. Pretty good job despite having to rearrange adapted material.
