Golden Kamuy S3 – Episode 6

Following up on the previous episode, we get the conclusion between Ogata & Vasily. Simply put, Vasily did not realize the extremes that Ogata would go to. Putting snow in his mouth, thus tricking him into thinking Ogata would try to trick him with setting up the cloak as a fakeout. Thinking he would be hiding in a more logical spot. We are seeing how making one mistake as a sniper can have.

Putting snow in his mouth overnight really fucked Ogata over. Thus he has a fever, and we see him seeing visions of his half-brother. Who essentially was the very image of pure and his attempts to corrupt him. More than likely he wanted to throw something in his father’s face. Of course that failed. It is interesting how involved Tsurumi was, but he even asked Ogata to back off. The more time goes on, the more suspicious Tsurumi’s behavior truly is. Though curious, why did Ogata have these visions?

Kiroranke does finally open up to Asirpa & Shiraishi. He was both Russian and had blood of the Karafuto Ainu. It all makes sense why Kiroranke and Wilk would go against Russia. Despite Shiraishi’s suggestion, Asirpa still wants an answer, but it is clear the road is just more dangerous. Though it is rather curious why Shiraishi stayed when there was an out. Surprisingly, his promise in Sugimoto means something, which you would expect with his character.

This episode adapted chapters 163-165. As well as half of chapter 166. Good stopping point since the point after switches to Sugimoto’s group.
